T he portable color ultrasound system, SONOACE Pico was released at the SUOG (International Society of Ultrasound in OB/GYN) meeting in New York, November 3-7, 2002. Q1) How is the product name pronounced?

The name is pronounced as [pi:ko]. Pico means one-trillionth (10-12) and refers to

a very small thing. SONOACE Pico is a valuable choice in compact and portable

color imaging ultrasound system.

Q2) What is the marketing concept of SONOACE Pico?

SONOACE Pico is the world?s most affordable color ultrasound system that features

full digital, high quality image equal to larger, more expensive wheelbased

system. Also, the portability of the system makes Pico flexible use in general

imaging and OB/GYN diagnosis.

Q4) What are the major competing models?

In fact, we confidently assume there is no exact competing models for

SONOACE Pico. SONOACE Pico is the first affordable and portable ultrasound

system for general imaging and OB/GYN. Competitors portable color

systems are dedicated to cardiac imaging and their price range are over USD

40,000. Small sized color systems of price range USD 20,000 are rather sorted as

hand-carried and feature more dedicated specifications for emergency use.

Q5) What is the quality of 2D, Doppler, and 3D imaging?

SONOACE Pico realizes 64 channel digital image processing by synthetic aperture

and provides clear 2D image quality high sensitive color Doppler imaging

that is comparable to SA 6000C MT. SONOACE Pico adopts same platform as

128 BW for free hand style 3D imaging.

Q6) Does SONOACE Pico support cardiac software package?

Yes, SONOACE Pico provides good contrast image for cardiology with microconvex

probe (C2-4ES). For cardiac package, SONOACE Pico supports ECG

and measure software that is comparable to that of SA 9900.

Q7) Will SONOACE Pico have veterinary version?

SONOACE Pico will not include any software for veterinary at its first release.

However, we have plan to expand SONOACE Pico for veterinary version in

the future.

Q8) Does SONOACE Pico support battery power?

No, SONOACE Pico does not support battery power. Only A/C power supply

is available.

Q9) How can the users store and review the images?

SONOACE Pico provides built-in SonoView Lite software for digital image

management. With the SonoView Lite, ultrasound images can be archived and

retrieved. Images can be exported to CD-rom, Magneto Optical disk, and

floppy diskette by external connection. Also, ultrasound images in SONOACE

Pico system can be transferred to PCs where SonoView Pro is installed. Users

can perform the same image management with SonoView Pro on their PCs.

Q10) When will SONOACE Pico start its first shipment?

We expect the first shipment in March, 2003. However, there is possibility of

delay for final check of the system performance and stability. We will announce

in advance if any delay occurs.
